Marie-Therese Harnoncourt
Marie-Therese Harnoncourt (born in Graz in
1967) and Ernst J. Fuchs (born in Anras/Osttirol in 1963)
have operated under the name of the next ENTERprise - architects
since 2000.
Both graduated at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (A);
teaching activities in Vienna, Innsbruck and Linz.
Grant-in Aid for Architecture awarded by the City of Vienna
(2003); Cultural Prize for Architecture awarded by the Federal
Government of Lower Austria (2000); award for experimental
tendencies in architecture (1996 - as THE POOR BOYs ENTERPRISE).
The projects comprise experimental interventions
into the urban space, installations as well as actual construction
projects and urbanistic concepts. By means of their architectural
sculptures they create intense spatial presences that
open
up possibilities for a new form of spatial action thus
leading
to a turn towards a "performative" notion of
architecture.
