Anna Jermolaewa
Born in St. Petersburg (RU) in 1970
1998: graduated at the University of Vienna (Department of
Art History )
2002: graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (A) (Painting,
Graphic Arts & New Media),master class Prof. Peter Kogler;
various teaching activities; since 2005 Professor for the
New Media at the HFG-Karlsruhe (D).
Lives and works in Vienna (A) since 1989
The artist questions power and manipulation,
the operations of social relations and habits of everyday
life by using
items of everyday life like, for example, toys that she
bestows with a frightening and oppressive dimension by means
of monotonous
motion sequences or altered scenarios.
